Costs

FRM is dedicated to keeping fertility treatment costs within the reach of as many couples as possible, for them to realise their dream of having children, whilst providing the "highest quality, most relevant treatment options available" (Professor Robert Norman, Chairman, Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee to the FRM Board and 2009 South Australian Scientist of the Year).

From 1 January, 2010, Medicare will introduce a limit, called the Benefit Cap, on the benefit amount payable under the Extended Medicare Safety Net ( EMSN ) on some Medicare Services for Assisted Reproductive Technologies. In addition to the benefit cap, Medicare will also introduce a new item structure which will have a further impact on the rebates and out of pocket costs for both new and existing patients seeking new treatment at FRM from 1 January, 2010.

Initial enquiries regarding the new Benefit Cap and the changes to the item structure for Assisted Reproductive Technologies, should be directed to Medicare on 132 011.*

In an endeavour to keep treatment costs within reach, FRM has minimised the impact of the medicare changes to couples seeking fertility treatment, as is reflected in the new fee structure. Please refer to the schedule of fees below:
